Nippon Xmas Magic

If you visit Japan over Christmas, you will be welcomed by some most elaborate light installations. Well, powering up on millions of LEDs does not mean the Japanese, predominantly Shintoist and Buddhist, have converted to Christianity. In Japan, Christmas is a fun holiday, probably best likened to Valentine’s Day or Halloween in the West. Within easy reach from Central Tokyo and well known for their sparkle are Shibuya’s Blue Cave and the cherry blossom-like illuminations along Meguro River.
