Nippon Xmas Magic

If you happen to visit Japan over Christmas, you will be welcomed by some most elaborate light installations. Within easy reach from Central Tokyo and well known for their sparkle are Shibuya’s Blue Cave and the cherry blossom-like illuminations along Meguro River.

Celebrating Christmas by switching on millions of LEDs does not, however, mean the Shintoist and Buddhist Japanese converted collectively to Christianity. For them it is essentially a fun holiday, like a blend between Valentine’s day and Halloween.
