Hi, I am Hans, the guy running this place!
I feel nostalgia for old-school, lugged steel bikes. Riding a bicycle was an essential part of my life during my school and student days. Even today, I favor the flexibility of a bike over the comfort and convenience of a car (at least on shorter distances).
In the 1980s, the production of chromoly steel bikes was at its heyday. Of the manufacturers that shaped the era’s bike technology many were Japanese. Brands such as Bridgestone, Fuji, Kuwahara, Panasonic, Shimano, or SunTour, to name but the larger ones, come to mind.
